1-year ago, Mac Miller released what would be his last album Swimming.
Released on August 3, 2018, Swimming was a 13-track album that detailed the 26-year old singer’s struggle with heartbreak, mental health and drug addiction.
One of the standout tracks was "Self Care." Watch the video below.
AAnother moment, I remember from the release was Mac's NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert where he performed "Small Worlds," "What's the Use?" with Thundercat and one of my favorites "2009."
It was impossible to ignore Mac when he jumped onto the scene around 2007. A white 15-year old rapper who loved to smoke weed dropping high school and college bangers.
It wasn't until his later albums like The Divine Feminine and Swimming until I really started to pay attention to this mans talent. He was re-inventing himself every single album and never shy'd away from being himself and speaking his truth.
Listen for yourself and discover what you have been missing. R.I.P. Mac Miller.
